Chicken breasts stuffed with feta, stuffed tomatoes, rice, sautéed mushrooms and green onions, and some challah.

I have not been updating as of late, my husband (also known as my assistant) informed me that some members of his family are reading. One even sent a friend to "help" with my cat problem (even though number one of my requirements states I must know you and I do not know either person, where has the world of reading comprehension gone?). It is kind of creepy.

I know this is public and I do not share anything truly private (anything I share here would be available to anyone who asked me face-to-face), but still, a little creepy. It is also a reminder why if you want to really know what is going on in my life you have to talk to me and not rely on this place, because I just do not share here like I should. . . or want to.

They are not the sole reason I am not posting much lately. I have been rather busy here and there. I truly need to organize my time better.
With the exception of holiday cards, children, and, to some extent, my parents I am going handmade for this holiday season. (I have excluded the holiday cards as I have a box of assorted cards for assorted reasons that I am slowly sending out. I do not wish to be bogged down by creating fantastical new cards, I would much rather spend that time creating gifts. I have excluded children, for the most part, because there is only so much I can make that a child will find interesting; my arts tend to be more for adults. I excluded my parents for some of their gifts, but not all. Because my family is so large --I have nine siblings-- I tend to purchase my family gifts year round of things only available in Japan. I already have a stockpile to send out, so out they go.)
This means that almost every gift I give this year (almost because of the exceptions) will be handmade by me, handmade by someone else, purchased to compliment something handmade (supplies, frames), or craft related items so the recipient can create something on their own.

If you would like to exchange handmade gifts please let me know and ensure that I have your address. I have significantly trimmed my holiday card and gift list this year.
I plan on sending everything out the first or second week of December.
Part of the problem of my hair growing too fast is that my hair is baby fine and straighter than Superman (in terms of the good deeds he does, not in regards to his sexuality). This combination of straight, baby fine, and quick growth means once my hair gets past my shoulders it falls under its own weight and sticks to my head like a sort of condom made of hair. And let us face it, if I wanted to wear a condom on my head I would have a pretty one fashioned out of latex by HW Designs.
In my head a nagging voice has been popping up every now and then. At first I ignored it, the temptation to shave my head again is so very strong but as I have been growing out my hair for almost two years now I would hate for all my body's hard work to go to waste (that and I am rather enjoying the blue colour).
I have instead made a compromise. Friday I gave myself a Hime style cut.

A Hime cut is defined as being straight and is cut in a grading formation: the straight bangs are highest, followed by a straight cut in the hair along the cheekbone or chin in the middle, and then the remaining hair hanging down as far as you like at the lowest point. You can see the bangs and the cheekbone levels here, and a bit of the longer hair on my shoulder.

The style instantly thinned out my face and stopped my hair from clinging to my scalp for dear life.
I think it looks rather cute. Unfortunately, it reminds me that I was born in the wrong era. I definitely have the beauty of the 1920s and not the 70s/80s/90s/00s.

I got my second wind today so I used it to clear out a room.

Hahaha, erm, yeah, fart jokes are lame. :(

I cleaned my office, I cleaned our never ending hallway (both upstairs and down), I cleaned both W/Cs, I cleaned the dinning room, I cleaned the entry way, and I cleaned the tea room. I sorted laundry, I washed three loads of laundry, I hung everything up to dry, I put a load in the dryer (which is spitting out water right now, I doubt that is good), I folded laundry, and I put laundry away. (Cleaning entails removing garbage, sorting garbage into one of ten million categories for the trash men, dusting, sweeping, organizing belongings, washing counter tops, scrubbing toilets, and washing windows. It does not include mopping as that has to be done at the butt crack of dawn because the floors take forever to dry.)

I have cleared my memory cards, I am charging my camera batteries, and I am gathering up everything for our trip to Kyoto tonight.

All that remains is the kitchen (oven, trash, fridge, dishes), the remaining laundry, my bedroom, the shower/bath, and my son's bedroom. Oh and to practice my Hebrew and go to the grocery to get food so I can make dinner. . . maybe I won't make dinner and will just get it to go instead.

I am tired but I feel better now that the house is a bit tidier. Now if it would only stay that way.

I am so very tired. I could sleep ten hours, be up for four, and then need a nap to sleep another four hours before waking up for two hours and going back to bed again.

I have a peak time every day in which I have energy. This lasts for about an hour and if I do not use it, away it goes. Once the hour is gone I become very sluggish and unable to concentrate.

A change in my diet does not help, neither does exercise. For two months I ate all healthy food (vegetables, no red meat, fruits, no starch, low-fat, & vitamins), rode a bike ten miles in the morning for an hour, rode a bike ten miles in the evening for an hour, and drank nothing but water. What happened? I was still tired and I did not lose a single pound (fortunately I did not gain any weight). My stamina did not increase, every day was like the first day: an uphill battle.

My skin is drier, I am always so cold, I feel so sluggish and cannot concentrate (I often have to ask my husband to repeat things he has said as I know he spoke but I cannot recall anything else), I cannot talk for long period and when I raise my voice it gives out, my hands hurt, I keep getting random pains in my legs, my period is even more irregular than normal (TMI, but I have never had a regular one), I am restless, I forget everything if I do not write it down, I do not feel I am breathing properly (as if I am not getting enough air/oxygen), the light hurts my eyes, and I am always lightheaded and dizzy (whenever I stand up I have to do it very slow or my vision goes black and my body starts to give out). And who knows, it could all be tied into my miscarriages too.

I am thirty years old and I feel like I am eighty. I should not be this tired. And tired is not even the right word. I am exhausted. Truly exhausted.

My cats have been staying with a friend while they go through the mandatory 180 quarantine period.

My husband was supposed to pick up three of the cats in July and one in August/September.

I reminded him about this starting in February. Every week, and sometimes every day in a week, I would remind him to purchase the plane ticket and send the forms (via fax) to the Japanese customs.

Guess what? It is now November 6th and he still has yet to do either. He just finished filling out the forms in the past 48 hours, after I filled in 97% of three of them. Oh, and the forms need to be sent 40 days before the cats arrive in country. Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh.

I cannot go as I do not drive and I have no child care (if I go I have to take my son as my husband works and we have no child care in Japan). Given how much faith I have in my husband's ability, I am now looking for alternative arrangements.

I have asked my friend watching my cats if he can do this, but as I doubt it, here goes.

I am giving my husband until the end of next week to get his ass in gear and purchase the plane ticket and fax the forms. That would be November 14th, 2008.

If he cannot do as he has told me he will do on countless occasions (that is: buy the plane ticket and fax the forms) I am looking for a volunteer who would like a free trip to Japan.

Here are the restrictions:
1. I have to know you.
2. You have to live in the USA.
3. You have to be responsible.
4. You have to be willing to travel during December.
5. You have to have a passport. (If you do not you can get one rushed with proof of travel.)

Here is what it entails:
1. You fax the forms within 24 hours of the 14th (they are already filled out).
2. You travel to Ohio to pick up the cats (there are four). They are staying with a friend. He will get the proper vet work-ups for you to take.
3. You fly to Japan.
4. You go through customs.
5. We pick you up from the airport.

Here is what you get:
1. We will fly you to Ohio (by you I mean one adult).
2. We will fly you to Japan (we pick the arrival date, you pick the departure date, and again by you I mean one adult).
3. We will pick you up from the airport in Japan.
4. You are free to stay with us. While staying with us we will feed you and return you to the airport. (But if you leave us to visit other places we will not feed you while you are away or drive you to the airport. Use common sense please.)
5. If you stay with us we will bring you back to the airport.
6. We will fly you back to Ohio.
7. We will fly you back home.

There is transport cost (to your local airport and around Ohio) and possible hotel cost (in Ohio) to discuss, as well, but those are details I'd have to iron out with my friend first..

If it works out you would be flying into Japan sometime on or just after December 25th.

Please let me know if you are interested via e-mail.

I have my POP working again, so expect some responses within the next few days if you have e-mailed me.

We plan on cleaning and painting this weekend, I shall see how that goes.

I have been so tired lately. Too tired. As soon as I can locate a doctor who speaks English I will make an appointment.

There is more, but by the time I get around to sitting in front of the computer to share, I just am overwhelmed by a case of "what is the point?"

There are some people in my life that I miss. An old group of friends that was so unbelievably supportive to each other in all things. I do not know how I lost them.

I adore this time of year. I think I am going to out into it and enjoy it instead of feeling guilty for not keeping up with anyone and not allowing anyone to keep up with me (by not posting here).

This past Sunday we were walking around Osaka in the rain. My feet gave out from under me, slipping against a plastic strip on a set of stairs made of concrete and steel.

I hit the stairs hard, sliding down them until I managed to stop myself by grabbing firmly to the railing. I was told the entire structure shook.

I managed to stand up with the help of my husband and a friend we were with. The pain was excruciating so I stood there for a moment before we continued on to the restaurant.

After sitting down I noticed my vision in my left eye was blurry and that the blurry portions were moving rapidly up and down. An hour later this passed and my vision returned to normal.

Since then it has been difficult for me to walk, move, and sit. I cannot bend over without pain and walking is very uncomfortable.

My ass is an intricate map of dark purple and yellow bruises. My coccyx area is swollen and a very deep and dark purple.

I have broken my tailbone or I have "bruised" it, either way it is very painful right now. If it is bruised it should be fine in a week or so. If it is broken it will be a few months, could even hurt beyond that, and I will be able to say I broke my ass.
